Meeting Minutes for the February 12, 2016 meeting
The Feb. meeting of Corvettes of Dakota Territory meeting was called to order at 7:00 PM at Eagles Club   in Mandan by President Gary Stefanovsky, with 26 members present.
Lori made motion to accept Secretaries minutes with corrections Bruce second the motion.  M/C                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              The Treasurer’s report was given by Gary with a balance of $4194.28 with $90.00 of dues to be deposited and we receive .07 interest on our checking account.  Mary N. made motion to accept Treasurer’s report and Bill P. second it.  M/C
Old Business:
1.)    The Club discussed the fall run Sept 22-25, Gary told the group of the prices of the Hart Ranch.  They are $60.00 night for a Colt cabin and $70.00 nite for Colt 2 cabin.  Gary is going to check with Hart Ranch to see if  cabin’s have bathroom  facilities.  We will discuss this further at the March meeting. (Deadwood  is having major road construction near the Super 8 where we usually stay)
2.)   The By- laws are all signed now and Diana will mail hard copies to the officers.
3.)   Gary brought up for discussion the Minot Club would like to be included with our club for the Buggies and Blue event.  This is our club’s 40th year. The event is June 10th – 12th.  Paul C. said the Corvettes are the featured car this year. Paul brought up the subject of two cars for the tee shirt.  The club discussed this and Mary N. made a motion the cars will be C2 Ardean’s and C3 Gary S. Avie P. second the motion. M/C Ardean and Gary  are to get the pictures to Paul by Feb. 29. Paul stated these cars will lead the Parade, he also stated he will get the parking for the featured cars by the park on main street.
4.)   Gary also brought up the New President of the Minot Club would like to meet with our club at the Stoney Inn.  It was decided May 21st would be a good date. He said the Stoney Inn is under new management and they would serve a buffet to the clubs.  Gary will contact the Minot Club to arrange the details. Ray and Lisa Zerr said the Inn had changed management and had heard food and service was great now.
5.)   Gary presented former President Mary Scott with a plaque to thank her for her service as President the last two years.
6.)   Gary brought up the subject of the Corvette Rally.  Glenn S. gave a report on the situation of rooms at First Gold.  We couldn’t get rooms this year as they rented them to another group during that time. July 14-17.  Glenn contacted Cadillac Jacks to check availability and prices.  The price of the rooms are Thurs. $129.00/ night and Friday thru Sunday $169.00/ night , they have limited underground parking they charge for parking whether your under in the garage or parked outside.  The Spring Hills price is Thursday $179.00 and $194.00 for Friday thru Sunday.  They can accommodate more cars in the underground garage, but it is first come first serve.  Mike brought up in years past with that situation members pulled out of the runs in early afternoon to get parking.  It was the consensus of the group to check with the Lodge and maybe try to make a deal for the Corvette Rally and Fall  run. The Minot Club would like to travel down with us to South Dakota and possible share a block of rooms at the same hotel.  It was decided when we find out where we are staying we would pass the information along to them and they could lock in their block of rooms, so we wouldn’t be responsible for all.  Glenn will bring back his findings at the March Meeting.
7.)   Vicky informed the group the Roughrider Car Show is May 15 @ Elks. She had talked to the Chevy Car Club and there was discussion of the Corvette Club participating in the Roughrider Car Show events. Vicky and Mike G. and Mary and Mike N. will check into tee-shirts and window clings for our 40th anniversary for the club, to use at the events this year.
8.)   There was discussion on posting the upcoming events like the meeting etc in the Bismarck Tribune in their event schedule.  Vicky volunteered to check into it.
9.)   Lori brought the subject of meeting places.  The members present liked the Eagle’s club and menu. We meet in the downstairs meeting room with access to it from the northern parking lot which is available to us to use. We ordered off the menu and the food was served in plenty of time for the meeting to start at 7:00 Gary stated it was nice to have the same meeting place so new members won’t be confused to where we are.
10.)   Mary S. stated they are still some Corvette bags for sale from the Christmas Party for $20./apiece.  She brings them to the meetings so you can purchase them from her if you would like one. The funds collected go toward next year’s Xmas party.
With no further business Bruce made a motion to adjourn and Vicky seconded it M/C

The minutes of the June meeting were approved with motion by Lori seconded by Avie.                                                                                                                                         Treasurer Al Braun gave treasurers report with a balance of 5796.77.  Bruce made the motion to accept the treasurer’s report and AJ seconded M/C
   New Business:
Corvette Rally in South Dakota July 16.  The cars will leave the Baymont (formally the Seven Seas) at 9:00 am.  The route will be announced there as they are checking for road construction etc.  Gary will have some maps and information about rally at the Baymont   to hand out if you need one.
There was a lot of discussion about where to go on runs at South Dakota, Gary will lead a Bear Tooth Run,   Lori brought up the train ride at Hill City, and there will be more information on that on Thursday.   There was also discussion on a Devils Tower run. The banquet is scheduled for Saturday night at 7:00 with 21 people signed up.
There was discussion of a car show at St Gabrielle’s Nursing home  from 5:00 to 7:00 and then going to cruise night on Main, on August 4.  Will have more info coming up.
Al and Jeannie will host at picnic and the August mtg. on July 26 at their home.  It will start at 4:00 please bring a dish to share.
Chuck Horter gave a short report on the run to Wisconsin that he and Julie and Mike and Mary N. went on.  They had a great time and recommends this event to all. Lots of fun activities.
There was a lot of discussion about the Website and a possible Facebook page.  After a lot of discussion it was the consensus to not go with Facebook as someone needs to monitor it.  Bill volunteered to set up a Gmail account, so we will try that.
The club had some discussion about how to help John and Shelly Krabsbach.  It was voted unanimous to give them a donation.  Chuck made the motion and Gary second it M/C.  Al will take care of this.  Without any further business Mary adjourned the meeting.
A special thank you to Avie and Bill for opening their home.

Minutes from the June 12th meeting

The meeting was hosted by Suz and Terry Buelow. Thank you so much for opening your beautiful home to the club and the great food.

Approval for the minutes for May approved.

New Business

Discussion held about the Garrison joint meeting with the Minot Corvette group. It seemed there was much confusion as to arrival time and the afternoon activities. No beer garden of food was offered as the flyer originally stated. This event will be reviewed next spring to change or determine if we still would like to participate in this event.

Old Business

Darol will look into the possibly of having a face book page. The Website is maintained by Bruce. Bruce stated there are very limited hits. It was discovered that there was an e-mail posted on the website that no one is receiving. It was discussed that we will post the home phone number of Mary and Jim Scott so that questions can be answered by a potential member. More discussion to follow as information is received by Bruce and Darol.

Members again requested an itinerary for the Spearfish Rally. We did attempt to provide this information on the day that the group left. Information was given as to events, dates and times of events in Spearfish and also information about group runs for Friday and Saturday.

Treasurers Report by Al.  $5,848 in checking. We did get 11 cents interest.

July 10th meeting will be hosted by Bill and Avie. Address is 2664 Sunny Place. Avie advised they will grill brats etc. Please bring a dish to share and lawn chairs. Address will be sent when it is closer to the date.

Meeting adjourned.

Respectfully submitted.

Mary Scott

The May 2nd CDT meeting was held at the home of Chuck and Julie Horter. A big thank you to them for opening their home for the meeting and for the Kentucky Derby Party. We are all hoping this will be an annual event.

Minutes for the April meeting were approved

Old Business

Discussion held by Bruce and Mike Neigum about he Website. The web site is still password protected if you had a password in the past. No personal information is posted on website. Discussion held that no more work to be done on attempting to secure website. Mike Neigum will continue to update all present members two to three times a year as to who is a paid member. Motion approved and passed for this action.

Discussion held to update pictures on website. Gary has many pictures and will work with Bruce to update website. We will hold on asking Mike LaLonde to do new pictures until we see what is available from Gary.

Discussion held as to the possibility of moving from our Website into a Face book type of communication. Darol Hopfauf will explore this possibility for the club and report back.

New Business

Paul reported on Buggies and Blues that will be held June 6th and 7th. In the past we meet in the parking lot of the Capital Credit Union. Organizers now would like all car clubs to meet on First street and an assigned avenue to allow all cars to be placed quickly and not over heat. Organizers are hoping this will eliminate much frustration and conflict on the part of car clubs.

May 5th is Cruise night. Meet at the Sanford Clinic parking lot on 7th and Main

The new location for all runs going to the West will be in the old Central Market parking lot on Main and 6th Ave in Mandan. Gary will update our run list with this information.

Underwood Midsummer Classic is June 19th. Mary has an entry form if anyone is interested in this event.

Motion to adjourn meeting by Chuck, seconded by Mary N. Meeting adjourned.

Respectfully submitted,

Mary and Jim Scott

Minutes of April 10th 7pm meeting at DJ Pizza

Meeting called to order by President Mary Scott at 7:02pm

Previous minutes were approved by Mike Koch and seconded by Al. Approval of Minutes from March passed.

Treasurers Report from Al. CDT has $5,628.48 in our checking account

New Business

The meeting with the Minot Corvette Club will be held in Garrison on May 30th. There will be a Beer Garden from 2-5, a meeting and supper 5-8 and a dance. Gary will send out information as to a time and location if you would like to leave as a group.

Thanks to Mike Niegum on the work he did to update the membership list as well as the e-mail list. Please check to assure your information is correct.

It was brought to the groups attention that the web site is not password protected. It was decided by the group that we will leave the web site not password protected but no personal information about the members phone numbers and e-mail address will be posted.

Information on Chuck and Julie's Kentucky Derby Party on May 2nd was sent in a previous e-mail. The meeting for May will be held at 3pm prior to the party. The May 8th monthly meeting will be cancelled.

Much discussion was held about increasing charitable contributions. With over $5,000 in the bank it was felt that we should try to bring down the amount we carry year to year as we are a non-profit organization.

A motion was made by Bruce and and seconded by Gary to increase the National Guard donation that we give in September at the Kupper Military Appreciation Days to $700. In the past we have donated $500. Motion was carried.

We will look at other Charitable Donations as directed by the membership.

A special welcome to our newest members that were present at the meeting Jennifer and Craig Thurow.

Darol advised he still has one flag for sale and there are still several license plates for sale.

Meeting motion to adjourn made by Mike Koch and seconded by Al.

Meeting Adjourned at 7:48pm

Respectfully submitted,

Mary
