The name tags can be made to match the back end of your model corvette C-1 through C-6 and would include your name, model and license plate name or number.  For an order form, contact Chuck Horter, Secretary.

The Brazilian style feast is $17.50 per person and is an excellent venue.  An email will be sent out to everyone to encourage their participation.
Chuck Horter said that an effort has been made to encourage review and use of the website under the Corvette General Discussion Topic.  He said that three topics have been opned on the website pertaining to the C5model and encouraged all members to review and use the website.
Chuck Horter said that Al Braun was coordinating a Corvette trip to Carson to celebrate their centennial celebration.  (See details in this addition of the newsletter).

Darol and Nancy Hopfauf suggested a "Garage Tour" sometime this summer.  It would be a tour of approximately 5 garages on a Saturday afternoon.  The primary date was set for Saturday, August 21 with a secondary backup date set for September 11.  Members interested in showing their "garage" during this tour should contact President Gunsch.  Mike Koch stated that he had special poker chips that could be used instead of cards for any designated poker runs.
Meeting adjourned.

Corvette Fun Facts:
The big news for 1957 was a V-8 enlarged to 283 cubic inches and offered in five versions.  The 283 was a legendary landmark for Chevrolet and certainly made its mark in the early corvettes.  Two versions of the 283 featured Chevy's new "Ramjet" fuel injection, a pricey $500 option signalled by discrete lettering in the concave bodyside "coves."  Only 240 vettes got the 250 bhp"fuelie" or the landmark 283 bhp edition.  Ads touted the setup for making an impressive "1 hp per cu. in."
Carbureted 57's offered 220, 245 or 270 bhp depending on the setup.  This year also introduced other  new performance options including Borg-Warner 4 speed transmissions, a variety of rear axel ratios and a heavy duty racing suspension that made the vette virtually track ready right off the show room floor.  Despite a base price hike of $316 to $3465, model year sales jumped over 80 percent to 6339 units.  The Corvette had found it niche.
You are most likely a Corvette owner if...
If you know the exact day you bought your car (April 3, 2005)... but forget your anniversary.
If you have 100% cotton towels for your car and you use old, worn-out ones in your bathroom.
You have pictures of Vettes in your garage so she's not lonely.  If you've actually had a momentary twinge or worry at night, when you turn out the light in the garage about leaving your Vette "alone in the dark."
You spend more time vacuuming the 20 squae feet of carpet in your Vette than your 2000 square foot house.
Feel that you must scrub the underside, you never know, some mechanic may get the wrong impreesion of you if it's dirty.
